Desert Fate is a story i came up with to prepare for my final bachelor project. Even though I ended up not using this story, it set me on the path of creating a Title Sequence.
The story centers around a city in the desert, in a distant world, where a mysterious ritual is held to ensure the prosperity of the city. Unbeknownst to the main character, Maya, the chosen prophet for the ritual, is to be sacrificed. She and her newly found companions try to stop the ritual and find a different way to have the citys goddess ensure the safety and life of everyone.
Initially i wanted to let Maya be sacrificed, but my mind was ultimately swayed by everyone protesting against her death. For my final presentation of the story, I created a storyboard for a title sequence. I drew all other characters separately after completing the final draft of the story and animated a few snippets.
This is the very first version of the storyboard I created. Still very early on I didn’t have an underlying concept, but relied on the song I chose and used some imagination. I couldn’t use the song but it gave me a good idea of where this storyboard could go.
These are all the characters I created and sketched for the storyline.
